Beta Purpose & User Notice

Plain Language Summary

1. Purpose of This Beta

TrustWorks.Redact (Beta) has been developed to demonstrate and evaluate automated redaction capabilities intended to support Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) workflows.

This Beta version:

  • Is experimental and pre-commercial.
  • Is provided solely for evaluation and testing purposes.
  • Is not intended for production use.
  • Must only be used with synthetic, anonymised, or mock data.

Users must not upload or process:

  • Real personal data
  • Confidential business data
  • Intellectual property
  • Trade secrets
  • Regulated or sensitive information

If a user elects to upload real data despite this restriction, such action is undertaken at the user's sole risk and responsibility.

TrustWorks does not guarantee redaction accuracy and the output must not be relied upon for regulatory compliance.


Part II

Beta Terms of Use

2. Definitions

“Beta Service”
— means TrustWorks.Redact (Beta).
“Company”
— means QL Tech Ltd.
“User”
— means the individual or entity accessing the Beta Service.
“Applicable Data Protection Law”
— means GDPR, UK GDPR, and any implementing or supplementary legislation.

3. Nature of the Service

3.1 The Beta Service is a standalone module and is not part of the TrustWorks core compliance platform.

3.2 The Beta Service is made available free of charge for evaluation purposes only.

3.3 The Company reserves the right to:

  • Modify or suspend the Beta Service at any time,
  • Restrict access,
  • Terminate the Beta without notice.

4. Permitted Use

4.1 The Beta Service shall only be used with:

  • Synthetic data,
  • Test datasets,
  • Artificially generated information.

4.2 The User expressly agrees not to upload:

  • Real personal data,
  • Confidential information,
  • Proprietary materials,
  • Regulated data sets.

4.3 The User acknowledges that if they upload real or sensitive data, they do so in direct contravention of these Terms and assume full legal responsibility.

5. No Warranty

The Beta Service is provided strictly “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”.

The Company makes no representations or warranties regarding:

  • Accuracy of redaction,
  • Completeness of anonymisation,
  • Regulatory compliance,
  • Suitability for DSAR fulfilment,
  • Fitness for any particular purpose.

No reliance shall be placed on the Beta Service for legal or compliance purposes.

6. Limitation of Liability

6.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company shall not be liable for:

  • Any regulatory fines,
  • Data breaches,
  • Disclosure of personal data,
  • Inadequate redaction,
  • Business interruption,
  • Loss of profits,
  • Loss of reputation.

6.2 The Company's aggregate liability under these Terms shall not exceed EUR 1,000.

6.3 The Company shall have no liability whatsoever where the User uploads real personal data contrary to Section 4.

7. Indemnification

The User agrees to indemnify and hold harmless QL Tech Ltd against any claims, regulatory actions, damages, losses, or costs arising from:

  • Upload of real personal data,
  • Processing of confidential information,
  • Infringement of intellectual property,
  • Violation of Applicable Data Protection Law.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
